Postdoctoral Research Assistant School of Crystallography

Full time, fixed term appointment for up to three years

The School of Crystallography/Institute of Structural and Molecular Biology is seeking a Post-doctoral Research Assistant to carry out computational structural analysis of complexes formed during Herpes Simplex Virus infection in the research group led by Dr Maya Topf. The project involves the development and application of computational methods in order to model the structure of macromolecular assemblies by integrating and complementing diverse experimental data, in particular from cryo-electron microscopy and tomography. The research programme is funded by a grant from the Human Frontier Science Program in collaboration with researchers in the US and Germany. Applicants should have a PhD in either Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biophysics or a related area, and relevant research publications.

Salary range will be from £33,501 to £35,365 per annum inclusive of London Allowance on Grade 7, initial salary will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
